Wenzhao Wei joined LANPh research group as a Research Scientist from March 2023. She received her B.S. degree in computer science and technology from Central China Normal University in China. She obtained her Ph.D. in nuclear and particle physics at the University of South Dakota. Her Ph.D. thesis focused on Geant4-based Monte Carlo simulations of germanium detector response to cosmogenic and radiogenic processes of backgrounds for directly detecting rare-event physics such as dark matter interactions and neutrinoless double-beta decay. After her Ph.D., she continued to work at the University of South Dakota as a postdoctoral researcher and then became a Research Assistant Professor. Her research focused on the fabrication and characterization of high-purity germanium detectors for rare event physics. At MIT, she is currently working on the characterization of conformal detectors with integrated scintillating fibers.
